Presence

Boundaries are where we connect.

Among a group of teenagers on a Windhorse Leadership encounter is a young woman. She is walking slowly, head down, hair over her face, not engaging with others. Later in the day Pam is surprised to see someone she doesn’t recognize. Then she realizes it is the same young woman, with her face transformed. The Windhorse Encounter has changed her. She has opened herself to the world.

We must learn how we see the world, and how we show up.

The woman, a writer,  opens the gate to the horse’s enclosure, then carefully closes it behind her. Her assignment is to be present with the horse and just see what happens. The horse moves toward her. The woman does her best to quell her fears. The horse wanders away and puts his head down again to nibble grass. Thinking she has not connected with the horse at all, the woman turns to leave.  To her astonishment, the horse follows her.
